youth engagement
ARC BAE is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of architects and designers through meaningful mentorship opportunities. By actively partnering with academic and community-based initiatives like ArcPrep and ArcStart, the firm helps high school and pre-college students gain a solid foundation in architectural thinking, design concepts, and spatial exploration. Through workshops, hands-on projects, and one-on-one guidance, we ensure that students from underrepresented backgrounds have equitable access to transformative educational experiences. This early exposure to the architectural discipline fosters confidence, creativity, and a heightened awareness of the built environment’s potential to shape vibrant communities.
In addition to formal programs, we extend our mentorship efforts by engaging youth in real-world design challenges and collaborative art projects. Through initiatives like mural-making and community-based design work, students learn to translate their visions into tangible outcomes, seeing first-hand how their ideas can positively impact public spaces. These immersive, interactive experiences not only help students hone their technical skills but also instill a sense of ownership and pride in their neighborhoods. By encouraging them to take an active role in shaping the places they live, our practice demonstrates our commitment to empowering youth and fostering a future architectural landscape that is enriched by diverse perspectives and voices.
